Vitaly Gurkov and Kem Sitsongpeenong faced off for the second time. Their first encounter happened at 2012 IFMA world championships in Russia. This is where Gurkov caused an original upset taking the decision in the semi-finals of the competition.

The fight in Milan was a chance for Kem to prove wrong. For Gurkov it was a new challenge to claim the world title on the professional ring.

After five rounds of action the judges decision proclaimed the verdict in favor of the competitor from Belarus. As an ultimate result Vitaly Gurkov becomes a new WBC super welterweight champion of the world.
