Steve Smoger IBHOF 2015 Inductee

Famed boxing referee from Atlantic City, NJ Steve Smoger is among eleven new inductees for the International Boxing Hall of Fame (IBHOF) on June 15, 2015 in Canastota, NY.

Steve Smoger is a prominent character of the boxing world. He is an official of the highest level known for his fairness, professionalism, invisibility inside the ring and care for athletes. “SS” is known as “the boxer’s best friend”. In addition Smoger is the Municipal Court judge as well as a lieutenant colonel in the Air Force reserve.

To date Smoger refereed over 195 title bouts across the Planet. Some of the notable bouts he refereed are Kelly Pavlik vs Jermain Taylor, Vernon Forrest vs Shane Mosley, Bernard Hopkins vs Felix Trinidad and Roy Jones Jr. vs Bernard Hopkins.

He is also the head official at the Bigger’s Better Boxing TV series on Eurosport network. He credits boxing for an opportunity to travel the World.

In addition in November Steve Smoger received a qualification from the WKN (World Kickboxing Network). He is an internationally recognized referee for kickboxing matches. Smoger made his debut at the World Grand Prix in Latvia last month.
