Left head kick does the job for Holly Holm knocking Ronda Rousey out in the main event of UFC 193 on Sunday, November 15, 2015 in Melbourne.

“This is the biggest upset in the history of MMA,” Joe Rogan said.

Former boxing champion and kickboxer, Holm simply performed as a better striker. When Rousey tried to take her down and bring the fight to the ground, Holm avoided the damage.

It was all over in the second round when the left head kick dropped Rousey to the canvas. Holm finished it up with the punches.

Rousey was taken to hospital after the fight to be treated for discussion and a cut on her face.

“She was transported (to hospital) because she got knocked out,” UFC boss Dana White said. “Obviously she’s completely bummed out and depressed…”

“These are the moments in fighting that make it so crazy and so fun.”

“Holly was the right fight. Ronda had never faced anyone who uses her length and distance like that.”

The night has also seen Joanna Jedrzejczyk defending her strawweight title against Valerie Letourneau, as well as a devastating stoppage by Mark Hunt in their anticipated rematch with Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva.
