On April 16 Greece will host the next edition of a renowned ‘Battle by WKN’ fight night in Athens.
An excellent production of kickboxing shows by Stefanos Konstantinidis has seen 2015 super finale only a couple of months ago, when 15th edition highlighted Europe finalizing the season. This morning the WKN world office released that the next chapter is already in works.
Konstantinidis is the World Kickboxing Network representative in Greece, TV personality and promoter of ‘The Battle’. His latest show titled Pavlos Kaponis as a new European champion when he defeated Italian Cristian Zahe, and qualified him to represent WKN top team at the up-coming Muay Thai event in Hong Kong. Previously ‘The Battle’ witnessed, once one of the biggest names in original K-1, Belarusian star Alexey Ignashov fighting local hero Antois Tzoros. Kickboxing beauties Marianna Kalergi and Ashley Gilson also squared off inside the boxing ring of ‘The Battle’.
In May last year the WKN president Stephane Cabrera told FIGHTMAG about his work for Greece. Among everything he has outlined the international management the WKN does for Greek athletes.
“I have been organizing as many possible international matches for Greek athletes, like we’ve seen Argyris Manekas fighting in Germany last February, for example, or Stefanos Konstantelopulos who will take part in the ‘Simply The Best’ event in Czech Republic this May.”
Since we’ve witnessed quite a few fighters representing Greece across the World, including the latest venture of Manolis Kalistis to Japan last month where he clashed with Tenshin Nasukawa. The following will be when see Giorgos Mavrogiannis fighting Martin Pacas in the 4 man tourney at Nitra Night Fighter on February 20 in Slovakia, which also includes ‘The Giant Slovak’ Tomas Mozny and Colin George from Netherlands.
The Battle 16 by WKN on April 16 will see several WKN kickboxing championships, with a potential super-heavyweight headliner featuring Antonis Tzoros in the International bout. We will have more on this story as it develops.
