Bharat Khandare and Jackie Gosh defeat Kazuhisa Watanabe and Kiyoshi Tamura at Ganryujima 3/25 on Friday March 25, 2016 in Tokyo, Japan.

Indian Bharat Khandare took the first round knockout victory over Japanese star Kazuhisa Watanabe. Prior the bout there was a bit of ‘pushing’ coming from Watanabe, who seemed impatient to start the fight. Khandare though remained calm. After a few kicking attempts, Indian athlete landed a high kick that dropped his Japanese vis-à-vis to the ground. It was all over after several hammer punches on the floor.

Meanwhile Krav Maga specialist from Israel Jackie Ghosh defeated Japanese Martial Arts legend Kiyoshi Tamura. The fight went on distance, with the judges pronouncing the guest of the country of the rising sun as a winner of the contest.

Ganryujima is a fresh fighting project in Japan. The concept is established by Sadaharu Tanikawa, who is a former executive of original K-1. The events are backed by FUJI which is a leading network in Japan. The actual fighting conditions are the typical MMA rules but without submissions. Herewith, the bouts are held in a flat circle like sumo, with no boxing ring or fenced enclosure.

Prior a recent Ganryujima show Mr Tanikawa has officially invited the World Kickboxing Network president Stephane Cabrera to visit Japan for a special meeting, aiming to discuss the following collaboration.
