WKN champion Tomas Mozny starts a successful venture at Glory World Series with a victory over Cihad Kepenek on Saturday April 16 in Denmark.

‘The Giant Slovak’ Tomas Mozny faced Turkish Cihad Kepenek in a reserve bout at Glory 29 Copenhagen. The heavyweight challenge went on distance. Moreover, it went farther when an extra round was applied.

On the second minute of the opening round Kepenek caught Mozny with the left hook causing an eight count. Slovak recovered well enough to be able to pay back with a spectacular push kick to the face. The second round saw Kapenek targeting a knockout via his overhand power shots. Mozny kept his long range, throwing combinations in return. The following three minutes did not show much of a difference. Turkish kickboxer seemed aiming the finisher with his firing hands, where ‘The Giant Slovak’ showcased a variety of strikes.

The highlight saw Mozny landing a big knee to the face featuring his trademark spinning-back kicks. After three rounds of action the judges came to a majority draw (29-27, 28-28, 28-28). The rules forced an extra round to go ahead. A sudden victory proclaimed Mozny as a winner via a unanimous decision 10-9.

The Mozny vs Kepenek heavyweight challenge was a reserve bout at Glory 29 Copenhagen. The main event saw Nieky Holzen winning a welterweight championship over Yoann Kongolo and Ismael Londt taking a heavyweight contender tournament.

‘The Giant Slovak’ Tomas Mozny is a two-time WKN European champion. He earned both titles in a format of a 4 man tournament. Last March WKN World Office revealed a three-fight deal for Mozny with GLORY World Series.
