Yolanda Schmidt defeats Natasha Sky earning the national title on Saturday, October 22, 2016 in Adelaide, South Australia.
Yolanda Schmidt of Sydney keeps proving her top spot in Australian national rankings. She traveled to Adelaide to take on local favorite Natasha Sky. The bout was for women’s muaythai national title.
Schmidt replaced Miriam Sabot of Italy. The second was originally matched to challenge Sky. Schmidt also had to step up in the weight class. The five-round challenge went for the bantamweight title.
After five rounds of action the judges unanimously proclaimed the guest from New South Wales as the winner.

“Took the win here in Adelaide, bringing home the WKA Australian Title!” Schmidt shared her emotions with fans on Facebook a few minutes after the bout.
As a result, Yolanda Schmidt, a Menai High School teacher in Illawong, NSW, collects the fourth consequent victory since her return from IFMA 2016 Jonkoping in May. In Sweden she earned her second bronze medal for Australian national team. She now also tops up her collection with one more Australian championship belt.
