Yolanda Schmidt and Daria Smith went ahead at the Rebellion muaythai show on Saturday, November 26, 2016 in Melbourne, Victoria.
Australia’s leading female muaythai fighter, Sydney’s Yolanda Schmidt squared off with Daria Smith. The second is a Russian competitor residing in New Zealand.
The contest featured on the card of Rebellion fight night in Melbourne. The result saw a split judges decision going in the favor of the guest.
“I landed some really good flush shots and I thought I had done enough to secure the win,” Schmidt told FIGHTMAG this morning.
“It was a really well matched fight and I enjoyed every minute in the ring.”
Next month Schmidt finalizes the 2016 season with the scheduled trip to Thailand. She is not yet done with fighting.
“I will be fighting as much as I can in Thailand, nothing planned but we have had some promoters contacting us already about potential match ups.”
During the last twelve months Schmidt topped up her record with six wins and three losses. She has also collected the New South Wales State and Australian national championship belts. In addition she earned bronze for Australia at IFMA world championships in Sweden.
