Tomasz Makowski takes on Nicola Canu in the main event of the Simply The Best episode 13 on Saturday, December 3, 2016 in Nowa Sol, Poland.
Earlier this year Tomasz Makowski earned an ultimate opportunity to challenge for the world title. He is indeed still the most recognized Poland’s kickboxer known across the world. Although last year “Maku” lost to Federico Roma he aims to climb on the top in his weight class again. In the latest bout in September he defeated Michail Argiris of Greece.
This Saturday, December 3 the World Kickboxing Network returns the world championship to Poland. Tomasz Makowski is taking on Nicola Canu of Sardinia for the WKN super featherweight title.
Canu is the third competitor announced to face off Poland’s star Makowski. The second was previously lined up against Tomik Nguyen of Vietnam and Frantisek Adam of Czech Republic. Both matches were cancelled with Sardinia’s kickboxer taking the bout.
Although a week notice is a short period of time Nicola Canu hands down establishes the real competition. He is the current European champion. Moreover, he is a two-time champion of Europe with the latest title defense in June.
In February Canu traveled to Belgium where he earned a unanimous decision over local Jeremy Legrand. As a result he became a new title holder. He then battled out against Jouhri Abdelmalek of France in defense of his belt. The scheduled five-rounder ended in the second. Canu claimed the knockout victory on his home turf.

The co-main event will see a freshly titled at Simply The Best 12 Farciennes international champion Lello Perego who jets from Belgium. The “Sultan” is going up against local favorite Lukasz Plawecki. The super welterweight world title is for grabs.
In addition the card includes a light heavyweight international championship. Local Slawomir Przypis is battling out against Erik Matejovsky of Slovakia. The under card includes a series of local and international bouts. The WKN supervisor of the show is Cezary Podraza.
