Frederic Kowatz of France defeats Valdemar Kulda of Lithuania and becomes a new WKN super middleweight world champion.

Frederic Kowatz (21-7) vs Valdemar Kulda (19-3) headlined the 13-fight bill at Nuit Des Defis on December 17, 2016. The event promoted by Wilfrid Hembert was held in the city Caen, Northern France. Three professional and ten amateur contests made up the card.

Two-time French kickboxing champion Kowatz faced off the Pankration world champion out of Lithuania Kulda. The bout went on distance. After five rounds of action the local star earned a unanimous decision. As a result he adds a prestigious WKN world title belt to his collection.

The Kowatz vs Kulda title bout featured on the WKN world championship program to close out 2016. In November Ondrej Hutnik became a new super heavyweight champion. Czech fighter KO’d Fabrice Aurieng in Marseille, France. Early December Tomasz Makowski claimed the super featherweight belt in Nowa Sol, Poland. “Maku” defeated Nicola Canu of Italy.
