The third season of the FightBox Podcast begins with the K-1 legend out of Netherlands Peter Aerts.

The interview took place just before Mix Fight Gala XX in Frankfurt, Germany on December 10, 2016. Peter Aerts was a special guest at the event.

Peter Aerts is a three-time K-1 World Grand Prix champion. His debut was at the inaugural K-1 WGP in 1993 where he faced off a fellow K-1 legend Ernesto Hoost. He has competed in every K-1 WGP except one in 2009, which made him known as “Mr K1”. Aerts received his ring name “The Dutch Lumberjack” due to his devastating head kicks.

Peter Aerts has collected the record of 141 kickboxing bouts in total. 105 victorious fights include 79 knockouts. He faced 34 defeats as well as twice went into a draw.

“The Dutch Lumberjack” has notable wins over Gokhan Saki, Remy Bonjasky, Ray Sefo, Jerome Le Banner, Ernesto Hoost. He is considered as one of the greatest heavyweight kickboxers ever.

In addition he went through a trio of MMA bouts earning a knockout victory as well as a submission and a decision losses.
