Yolanda Schmidt is fighting Plyfah Sor Nittaya on Sunday January 28 in Hui Hin, Thailand.

Schmidt vs Plyfah is the second encounter when the top Australian squares off with Thai elite. Female muaythai fighters went in their first challenge last August in Bangkok. “The Springbok” out of Sydney earned a decision, making an upset.

Nevertheless, Thai competitor has been looking for a rematch. During the last five months she succeed to become the first string fighter as well as earned the title of northeastern champion.

Late December Schmidt jetted to Thailand aiming to top up her record with more fights than she did last year. “The Springbok” celebrated New Year with the victory over Phetlanna. The second fight against Plyfah was also consequently locked in. Schmidt is currently in Chiang Mai undergoing the final preparation for the big bang this weekend.

“This is a big fight against the current top Thai female fighter on an all female fight show,” she told fightmag.com.au

The 5 x 3 minute rounds bout in the 56 kg weight class is the co-main event of the “Women’s Fight” world championship event at True Arena. The show airs live on Channel 28 and Pay-Per-view on channel 3SD.
