International kickboxing returns to Northern Ireland when the Usual Suspects step in the ring at Queens Hall Newtownards on Sunday February 6.
The Usual Suspects is the following edition of “made in ProKick” events by Billy Murray. For over two decades a former four-time world champion is also a mastermind of numerous names for fight shows. With tonight’s gala “Billy The Great” reflects The Usual Suspects (1995) movie. Athletes out of Northern Ireland face off international opposition.
In the main event Johnny Smith is fighting Camilo Villada Posada. Local competitor and the fighter out of Spain are battling out in the WKN welterweight prestige match. The bout goes ahead at 4 x 2 minute rounds.
In the co-main event Cathy McAleer is going up against Maltese Kylie Cocker. Female kickboxing beautifies the event in the fast paced encounter.
In addition three amateur contests feature on the card. Jake McCready is taking on Jesus Ruiz Batista of Spain. Michael Swann squares off with Cathal Dunne of Ireland in the rematch bout. Rowena Bolt is fighting Keri Webster of England.
The fight card also comprises two novice bouts. Chris Campbell takes on Fernandez Gil of Spain as well as Charlene Best faces off Hayley Boot of England.
The official weigh-in ceremony was held yesterday at Strangford Arms Hotel. Queens Hall accommodates tonight’s event with the first bout starting at 4:30 pm local time.
