Bigger’s Better Boxing releases a set of photos from the women’s kickboxing contest Girl Power.
Girl Power is an 8-woman one night tournament of kickboxing. The event aired on European network SFR Sport 5 on February 10, 2017 from Stara Zagora, Bulgaria. The promoter of the show is the Bigger’s Better Boxing, headed by Jean-Christophe Courreges. Furthermore the organization is a renowned producer of three seasons of heavyweight boxing live on Eurosport. In addition, In 2014 the “BB” presented the pilot of Girl Power live on Pay-Per-View.
The gala last Friday has seen eight international contenders battling out for a prestigious WKN belt. The fast-paced featherweight bouts went ahead at 3 x 2 minute rounds.
Notable French journalist Jean-Philippe Lustyk was the host of the show. A former WBC lightweight international champion Bruno Wartelle coordinated the event. American Hall of Famer Steve Smoger and Klaus Hagemann of Germany officiated the bouts.
Mallaury Kalachnikoff of France collected three victories consequently winning the tournament.
In the quarterfinal Kalachnikoff eliminated Judit Laura Foldvari of Hungary. In the semi-final she took a split decision over Serbian Marina Spasic. The latter, on the way to the semi-final, has defeated another French athlete, Laura Follereau.
In the championship bout the French fighter faced off Nathalie Visshers. The competitor out of Belgium earned the victorious over her country-fellow, Ilham Gramal and the representative of the country host, Iliana Metodieva Gelebova. The Bulgarian fighter defeated Zorka Stojanovic of Bosnia in the quarterfinal.
As a result, Kalachnikoff earned a decision against Visshers. The president of the World Kickboxing Network, Stephane Cabrera awarded the winner with the championship strap.
