Dan Kelly reportedly faces off Derek Brunson at UFC Fight Night 110.
Judoka and mixed martial artist Dan Kelly (13-1) is expected to top up the bill when UFC returns to New Zealand on June 11. According to Flocombat.com the Australian fighter is going up against American Derek Brunson (16-5) at Vector Arena in Auckland.
Kelly is ridding the four-fight winning streak. After losing against Sam Alvey in May 2015, he earned a unanimous decision against Steve Montgomery in November. The following year he stopped Antonio Carlos Junior in Round 3 with punches as well as earned a unanimous decision against Chris Camozzi. His latest victory was over Rashad Evans at UFC 209 on March 4 where he took a split decision.
Ranked No.9 in the UFC middleweight class Brunson is coming out of two losses. He faced the Round 1 TKO defeat against Robert Whittaker in 2016 as well as lost via a unanimous decision against Anderson Silva in February. His most recent win was against last September. He stopped Uriah Hall with punches in Round 1.
Kelly vs Brunson is the second bout targeted for UFC Fight Night 110. An unofficial announcement of the heavyweight bout between K-1 kickboxing legend Mark Hunt and American MMA fighter Derrick Lewis broke the news on Monday. The bout is expected to headline the show.
The UFC Fight Night 110 fight card has not yet been formally announced by the promotion. The event is the first show in New Zealand in three years. The previous gala UFC Fight Night: Te Huna vs. Marquardt, was held in June 2014.
