Nicolas Wamba vs Tofan Pirani headlines kickboxing gala TEKB 14 in Agde.
The “Trophy of the Ephebe of Kick-Boxing” is the French international promotion in Agde. Over the years the show by Christophe Dragole has produced the World, European and Intercontinental championship events. Some of the most prominent fighters appeared in the ring at TEKB. French athletes, including Bruce Codron, Eddy Nait Slimani and Karim Benmansour battled out against Swiss Yoann Kongolo, Australian Rob Powdrill, Japanese Raoumaru, among others.
“In cooperation with the World Kickboxing Network and its representative in France, Habib Bakir, we have organized several world and European championships. The latest was European. The next event is an intercontinental gala,” Dragole told fightmag.com.au in March. “We strive to promote our sport and we create more opportunities for athletes to compete internationally.”
The upcoming show is the fourteenth edition of TEKB held on May 12. The event dedicates the strive to return to the international elite of Nicolas Wamba (47-7). A former world title holder out of France is taking on Tofan Pirani (76-18, 22 KOs) of Iran. The latter is the 2016 All-Asia champion, who’s tale of the tape also includes the contests against eminent Bob Sapp and Stefan Leko. The pair will challenge for the WKN super heavyweight intercontinental title. The bout will go ahead at 3 x 3 minute rounds in K-1.
Wamba vs Pirani headlines the 16-fight bill. The fight card comprises two French national championship bouts as well as the promotion’s inaugural title fight. In addition, six rating kickboxing fights and six amateur contests complete the program.
