Abdallah Mabel defeats Pavol Garaj
International kickboxing returned to Eastern France with the gala in Divonne-les-Bains on April 15. The fight card included five bouts in K-1 and Muay Thai. Promoter of the event was Mohamed Majdoubi.
On the top of the bill Abdallah Mabel of France faced off Pavol Garaj of Slovakia. The pair squared off in the WKN prestige match. Due to the medical stoppage the scheduled for 3×3 minute rounds 77 kg bout ended prior the final bell. The local competitor was proclaimed as the winner by TKO in Round 2.
Also on the card Raphael Mebenga of France went up against Kadri Murseli of Albania. French fighter earned the decision in the 80 kg K-1 bout.
The rest of the card comprised Muay Thai challenges with French fighters battling out against international opponents. In the 57 kg encounter Hakim Hamech scored the decision against Mike Astarita of Italy. Similarly, Joseph Lasiri of Italy defeated Tristan Caetano in the 54 kg bout. As well, Ulrik Bokeme of Switzerland defeated Jean Philippe Ghigo in the 86 kg bout, also by decision.
In addition, the World Kickboxing Network scheduled the following three events in France within the next five weeks. Four WKN World titles will be challenged on Saturday April 22 at the Full Contact show in Nice. The next event is the intercontinental gala Trophy of the Ephebe in Agde on May 12. On Friday the organization announced the start of the second season of kickboxing series Dark Fights. The fifth chapter, Capital Fights airs from Paris on May 20.
