Kickboxing promotion ICX Seoul is held on May 14 at the 4.600-seat Jangchung Gymnasium

Last week the World Kickboxing Network announced the event, which is the first in history WKN World title contested in Korea. The happening is the following chapter in collaboration between the largest kickboxing sanctioning and the country known for production of such giants as Hong Man Choi, Jaegil Noh, Chang Hyung Lee, among others.

Over the years numerous fighters representing Korea partake in WKN promotions across the world. The latest to date was the Full Contact gala held earlier this month in Nice.

Kevin Burmester of Germany vs Dong Su Kim of Korea headlines the next show of the International Championship of Xtreme Fighting (ICX). The pair will challenge for the WKN World lightweight title in kickboxing.

Su Kim was previously lined up to square off with his long time rival Allan Gozdzicki of Belgium. The couple fought at Simply The Best 1 Charleroi going into a unanimous draw in 2014. The latter was forced to pull out due to a medical condition after his bout against Lorenzo Piras two weeks ago in Sardinia.

Burmester is a prominent competitor representing Germany. He has fought throughout the Globe appearing at various promotions including Fight Night Saint Tropez, Battle of St Raphael, RISE and Domination. He faced off such names as Samsamut Kiatchongkhao and Yasuomi Souda among others. Last April Burmester defeated Phetchompu Sitjaopho earning the WKN Intercontinental lightweight title in Denmark.

Burmester vs Su Kim is scheduled at 5×3 minute rounds. The promoter of the ICX Seoul is a scientific sports marketing and consulting company Sportizen.
