Sasa Jovanovic partakes in kickboxing gala Dubai Fight
Dubai Fight: Sasa Jovanovic faces off Karim Bennoui for the WKN World super featherweight title

Kickboxing promotion Dubai Fight is held on Thursday at the One & Only Royal Mirage

World championship kickboxing returns to the United Arab Emirates. The One & Only Royal Mirage accommodates an international gala Dubai Fight on May 4. The program comprises the 7-fight bill featuring kickboxing, muaythai and MMA bouts. Three prestigious WKN titles will be contested during the evening.

In the headline event Yohan Lidon of France is up against Patrick Vidakovic of Hungary. The current WKN World super middleweight champion Lidon faces off a prominent vis-a-vis Vidakovic in the second defense of the belt. Famed Frenchman earned the title in May 2016 scoring a knockout against Karapet Karapetyan. He then defended the title in August wining on points against Danijel Solaja.

The vacant WKN World super featherweight title at stake in the co-headline event

The first contender is a notable kickboxer out of France, Karim Bennoui. Serbian Sasa Jovanovic (72-22-5, 20 KOs) is the second challenger for the belt.

Fighting out of Top Team Vienna in Austria, the 31-year-old Jovanovic is a last minute replacement for Antoine Habash. The featherweight European champion out of Hungary was pulled from the contest on Tuesday. He reportedly was hospitalized due to an unspecified infection and is currently treated.

Although taking the fight on a short notice, the four-time world champion Jovanovic appears as a solid opposition for Bennoui. Challenging for the WKN World super featherweight title at Dubai Fight, the Austrian competitor records 100 bouts in his career.

The Dubai Fight fight card also comprises the WKN International super heavyweight contest in MMA with Mohammad Yahya of the UAE up against Mahmoud Mohamed of Egypt. In addition, the “Giant Movie Fight Show” with bodybuilder Morgan “The Big Rock” Aste and French-American actor Emilien de Falco features on the program.

The promoter of the event is Eric Favre of France. The championship supervisor is Osman Yigin of Belgium, representing the World Kickboxing Network. Dubai Fight airs on numerous networks such as Dubai Al Oula, MBC Action, L’Equipe 21, SFR Sport and FutureTV.
