Kickboxing promotion Glory 44 is held on August 25 at Sears Centre Arena in Chicago.
Glory 44 is the fourth event promoted by the “Champions League” in Chicago. In addition, the installed is the second edition for 2016.
“When we announced Glory 38 late last year, I talked about making the Chicago area a regular stop on our event calendar, and the history that’s been already been made with our partners at Sears Centre Arena,” said Glory CEO Jon J Franklin. “Well, we’re back!”
The event is expected to bring a five-fight program live on TV as well as a six-fight card on UFC Fight Pass. To date two participants have been announced.
Fighting on his home soil Richard Abraham (11-5, 4 KOs) takes part in the event. American welterweight is announced to battle out against a “worthy” opponent who’s name is not yet revealed.
Also Catalin Morosanu (44-10, 26 KO) features on the roster. A heavyweight out of Romania appeared at the previous event held in Chicago earlier this year and is expected to compete at the upcoming show.
It is advised that the match-ups for Glory 44 Chicago and Glory 44 Super Fight Series will be announced in the coming weeks. We will have more information as soon as it becomes available.
The most recent Glory promotion was held in Paris this past Saturday. Cedric Doumbe earned a split decision against Nieky Holzken in defense of the welterweight title. The next event is Glory 43 New York that is held at The Theater at Madison Square Garden on July 14. The program includes a heavyweight clash between Pavel Zhuravlev and Saulo Cavalari.
