Fight Night Saint Tropez is an annual kickboxing VIP event held on August 4 at the Citadel.
This year Fight Night Saint Tropez presents its fifth edition. The event tops up the program of kickboxing series Dark Fights.
The promotion made its debut in 2013 breaking the ranking with Jerome Le Banner battling out in the headliner. Furthermore with the attendance of the Hollywood star Sylvester Stallone. Last year, Mickey Rourke presented at the event that featured Yohan Lidon in defense of the World Kickboxing Network super middleweight title.
In April the organization hinted that several notable French fighters partake in the up coming show, including world champion Gregory Tony. In addition, Bob Sapp was mentioned as a potential participant. On Thursday the promotion shared a footage with the latter who advises that “The Beast” is indeed back and coming to Saint Tropez.
Bob Sapp (12-17-0, 9 KO) is a well-known character with a background in professional wrestling and American football. His resume includes two victories against a four-time K-1 champion, legendary Ernesto Hoost. The most recent kickboxing bout of “The Beast” was the 2015 technical decision victory against Akebono Taro in Japan.
Although not claiming to be in the first strings of the heavyweight kickboxing, Sapp went up against some of the biggest names of the original K-1. The list includes Remy Bonjasky, Mirko Filipovic, Peter Aerts, among others. He appears as one of the most famous characters in Japan. In addition “The Beast” holds the 11-19-1 record in MMA. He has also appeared in numerous TV shows and movies.
The name of the fighter to take on Bob Sapp at Fight Night Saint Tropez has not yet been revealed. We will have more information as soon as it becomes available.
