Sports drama Creed 2 is expected on big screen next year.
Sylvester Stallone made his way back into drama in Creed (2015) thanks to his best friend Rocky. Furthermore he was the Oscar nominee for the “Best Actor in a Supporting Role” at the 88th annual Academy Award.
The second chapter of Creed is in works. The film starring Michael B. Jordan as Adonis Johnson [Creed] is expected in cinemas in 2018. The official date of the release has not yet been revealed.
According to IMDb the storyline in Creed 2 develops from the moment where the first film left off (with a cameo appearance from Sylvester Stallone as Rocky). Adonis Creed became a know fighter. He rises through the ranks aspiring to emulate some of his father’s past glories. The latter is Apollo Creed portrayed by Carl Weathers. The character inspired by the legendary Muhammad Ali is Rocky’s adversary turned friend.
Sylvester Stallone is credited as a producer as well as the characters writer for Creed 2. Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios is listed as a production company.
In addition, arguably the best cinematic boxer of all time, Sylvester Stallone continues posting some of the rare moments out of Rocky movies on his profile on Instagram. He has recently shared a set of photos that feature Rocky himself, Ivan Drago as well as Apollo Creed. Some of the images are captioned with the hashtag “Creed2”.
Furthermore, Stallone shared a collage that gives “a chance to stretch your imagination.” It shows Ivan Drago facing off Adonis Creed, while Rocky observes the happening from outside the ring. “Life can be a brutal cycle,” he concluded.
