Kickboxing Glory 43 fight card
Glory 43 is held on July 14 at The Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York

Kickboxing gala Glory 43 is held on July 14 in New York.

Glory 43 is an eleven-fight kickboxing program held at The Theater at Madison Square Garden. The event comprises two chapters with a five-fight Glory 43 New York bill live on ESPN3, that follows a six-fight Glory 43 Super Fight Series card on UFC Fight Pass.

On Tuesday the promotion announced a slight shuffle in the card due to an injury received by one of the athletes expected at the featherweight contender tournament. Mo Abdurahman of England replaces Canadian Matt Embree in one of the semi-final bouts of the eliminator. He takes on Kevin Vannostrand of the US.

“Embree sustained the injury two weeks ago and had been hoping that he would be able to work through it and still take part in the tournament on July 14”, says the announcement. “With no improvement to the injury, however, he has been forced to withdraw.”

Abdurahman was previously lined up to fight Chinese Chenchen Li in a reserve bout. The latter remains on the card facing off American Justin Houghton.

Earlier this month the organization also stated that “due to the announcement being made less than three weeks before fight night” an interim light heavyweight championship between Brazilian Saulo Cavalari and Pavel Zhuravlev of Ukraine will be contested over three rounds. At a later date the winner will take on reigning champion out of Russia Artem Vakhitov in a championship unification.
