UFC 215 fight card
UFC 215 Johnson vs Borg

UFC 215 is held on Saturday September 9 at Rogers Place in Edmonton. With two championships at stake the Pay-Per-View event is the first UFC promotion in the city. It is also the second on Canadian soil this year. To date the organization announced 13 bouts featured on the program.

A five-round UFC flyweight title fight headlines the program. The reigning champion Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson (26-2-1) faces his American-fellow Ray “The Tazmexican Devil” Borg (11-2-0). Holding the longest active championship reign at ten title defenses, Johnson won the title back in 2012 in Toronto.

An upcoming contest is a chance for Johnson to set a new record. Ranked No.3 Borg is coming out of two victories against Jussier Formiga and Louis Smolka.

The co-main event is the UFC women’s bantamweight championship between Brazilian Amanda Nunes (14-4) and the No.1 contender Valentina Shevchenko (14-2) of Kyrgyzstan. The bout was initially scheduled at UFC 213 in July, however fell off with Nunes becoming ill.
