UFC Fight Night 121 in Sydney: Mark Hunt vs Marcin Tybura
Kiwi-Australian Mark Hunt (13-11-1) faces Marcin Tybura (16-2-0) of Poland on November 19 in Sydney. The heavyweight bout headlines UFC Fight Night 121 held at Qudos Bank Arena. The event airs on Fox Sports 1.
However according to the most recent post of “The Super Samoan” on Instagram he wanted to take on one of the Top 5 fighters in the division. He was also seeking for a rematch against Fabricio Werdum of Brazil.
Hunt and Werdum fought in 2014 in the headline bout at UFC 180 in Mexico, where Brazilian won the interim UFC heavyweight championship against Hunt. The latter was a short notice replacement for a former champion Cain Velasquez. The following year Werdum unified the belts, winning against Velasquez, but lost the title against the reigning champion Stipe Miocic in 2016.
The current UFC heavyweight Top 5 includes Alistair Overeem, Fabricio Werdum, Cain Velasquez, Junior Dos Santos and Francis Ngannou. Hunt is ranked No. 6, while Tybura is ranked No. 10.
Announcing the fight against the Polish competitor Hunt made a post on Instagram. He advised that he “had asked for Werdum for Japan and also for Sydney”, but the latter is “getting a manicure.” As a result “it’s party time Tybura,” he wrote in the caption among everything.
