Press Release: See Mayweather vs McGregor battle it out live at Event Cinemas

Due to overwhelming demand to watch the fight of the century dubbed the “Money Fight” between Floyd Mayweather vs Conor McGregor, an exclusive partnership between Event Cinemas and Foxtel and Fox Sports has been formed to give all fans a virtual ringside seat in front of the big screen with big sound live on Sunday 27 August from 11am AEST.

“We are excited to screen this epic boxing event live across Australia on the big screen and with the best in Dolby sound. This partnership with Foxtel and Fox Sports continues our strategy to bring new and fresh experiences to our Event, GU Filmhouse and BCC cinema circuits,” said Jane Hastings, CEO Event Hospitality and Entertainment. “Unlike watching a movie, for this event fans can feel very comfortable to cheer along their favorite to win as they would at home.”

Event Cinema has a number of food options which include admission for this momentous fight – anything from Angus Beef sliders, fries and unlimited popcorn washed back with a cold beer in Gold Class to a large Coca-Cola and large popcorn for the kids. The event which will pit the best of boxing against the best of MMA in the ultimate showdown will be broadcast live at Event Cinemas across the country bringing more of the world’s biggest events, to more Australians, in more ways.

“Mayweather versus McGregor is a not to be missed viewing event and Foxtel’s Main Event will ensure that Aussie fans can experience this historic fight live, whether it’s at home on the couch, at their local pub or club or on the big screen through this exciting new partnership with Event and Village Cinemas. You won’t want to miss this one,” said Steve O’Connor, Fox Sports Commercial Director

Foxtel’s Main Event channel will broadcast all the action live from Las Vegas, Nevada, as undefeated five-division professional boxing world champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. takes on current UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor.

After being announced in June this year, the event is shaping as one of the biggest pay-per-view events in history as worldwide interest continues to grow after months of build up to see who will claim the title of the greatest combat fighter. Now, for the first time, fans can watch this once-in-a-lifetime event on the big screen at Event Cinemas across the country with tickets starting from $28 per person and $45 for Gold Class.
