UFC Fight Night Japan weigh-in results, Gokhan Saki ‘glad to be back’

UFC Fight Night: Saint Preux vs Okami is held on Friday September 22 (Sept 23 in Australia) at Saitama Super Arena. The program comprises eleven bouts featuring a light heavyweight battle between Ovince Saint Preux and Yushin Okami in the headliner of the show.

At the official weigh-in ceremony conducted the day before the event Saint Preux showed 206. Okami was 2.5 pounds lighter, weighing-in at 203.5.

The main card on FXX also includes a highly anticipated debut of kickboxing star Gokhan Saki. “The Turkish” Tyson takes on Henrique da Silva in a three-round light heavyweight bout. On the scales Saki showed 205, while Da Silva was 206.

Post weigh-in Saki took it to Twitter with a message to his fans. “I’m glad to be back and I’m starting a new chapter in my sports career. Thanks for all the support!”

Also on the card a strawweight bout between Jessica Andrade (116) and Claudia Gadelha (115). As well, featherweight Rolando Dy faces Teruto Ishihara, with both fighters declaring 145.

Mizuto Hirota missed weight for the featherweight class (145), showing 150. The bout will proceed with 30 percent of his purse going to his opponent Charles Rosa who showed 145.5.
