Simply the Best Kickboxing
International kickboxing returned to Slovakia with Simply the Best, series 16, on Saturday October 14. The event held at Steel Arena Kosice featured a mixed 13-fight bill with kickboxing, boxing and MMA bouts. The leading Slovakian athletes went up against the representatives of Belarus, Poland, Egypt, France, Lithuania, Ukraine and Czech Republic. A charity campaign supporting Smile at Me association took place at the event.
On the top of the bill Slovakian Vladimir Moravcik met Belarusian Yuri Bessmertny in a three-round super middleweight blockbuster for WKN International title. The bout went the distance, with the proclaimed result as a unanimous draw.
Also on the card “Slovakian Giant” Tomas Mozny knocked out Egyptian-Polish Ayman Hassanin in the first round with left hook. Pavol Garaj defeated his Czech Matous Kohout opponent by decision, taking WKN International middleweight title. Lithuanian Mixed Martial Artists Sergej Grecicho caused an upset when he stopped Miroslav Strbak in the third-round, winning WKN International welterweight belt. In addition French middleweight Bakari Tounkara KO’d Slovakian Vladimir Idranyi.
Promoted by Lukas Bodyy and Petr Lamac, Simply the Best 16 Kosice was the fourth episode produced in Slovakia, following three previous series held in Poprad. A charity campaign supporting Smile at Me association [Slovak: Usmej sa na mna] took place at the happening. Slovakian rock band Metalinda performed at the event.
