John Wayne Parr makes his second appearance at Bellator Kickboxing on Saturday December 9 in Florence. Battling out on the Italian ring, “Gunslinger” faces local Piergiulio Paolucci (30-5) in a three-round 74 kg bout.

It is the second contest out of three-fight deal, Australian signed with the organization last year. In April Parr fought in Turin where he finished Nando Calzetta with a devastating kick to the head.

“I signed up for three [fights]. First fight was in April, second fight 9th December. And third, not sure when or where,” says Parr.

“I was hoping to fight last San Jose card, but Bellator asked me to fight in Italy again. I don’t mind where I compete, but getting an impressive win in America would be great for the profile for future seminars.”

When asked to make a comment on his next opponent Piergiulio Paolucci, Parr says that “he looks aggressive”.

“No doubt will be coming to knock me out in his home country.”

“This will be my third fight in Italy and hoping to make it my third win.”

John Wayne Parr vs Giorgio Petrosyan

Arguably the most thrilled clash that the fans would love to see is JWP up against famed Italian Giorgio Petrosyan. However, the latter faces Thai Yodwicha Por Boonsit in the headliner of the upcoming show. The pair battles out for Bellator Kickboxing 70 kg title.

“I’m not sure what will happen,” says Parr. “One problem is – he fights at 70 kg and my next fight is 74 kg.”

“Lowest weight I have fought at the last 10 years is 72.5 kg. The idea of fighting 70 kg would be very taxing on my body,”

“But, if the money was right I’m sure I could eat salad everyday for three months.”
