Simply the Best Kickboxing – Nuit des Titans
Kickboxing series Simply the Best 17 Farciennes takes place at Hall Omnisport on Sunday November 26. The event is the fourth series produced in the country. The roster includes the A-list Belgian fighter up against international opponents, with three WKN titles challenged on the night.
To date the organization has formally announced five bouts featured on the card. The most recent addition is a three-round non-title super lightweight Muay Thai contest between the representative of the country host Xavier Lejour and French Aurelien Houdart.
Xavier Lejour makes his fifth appearance in the world series, following events in Charleroi, Poprad and twice back in Farciennes. Over the course of his career he has faced the likes of Franck Wawina, Abdellah Aarab, Samuel Hadzima, Florea Ionut.
Aurelien Houdart makes his Simply the Best debut. His resume includes the battles against Sidi Soufiane, Julien Holvoet, among others.
STB 17 Farciennes is headlined by the World Kickboxing Network lightweight championship, featuring the current champion Sardinia’s Lorenzo Piras (21-5-0, 10 KOs) who defends the belt against Belgian Allan Gozdzicki (45-20-3, 13 KOs). The bout is also a rematch, following their original encounter in April on Sardinia, where the local fighter was awarded the victory by decision.
Also on the card Belgian Gaetano Pirello faces French Rehda Chtibi, challenging for WKN European welterweight Muay Thai title. As well, Belgian Tarik Mahillon goes up against Slovakian Samuel Hadzima, battling for WKN International lightweight belt. In addition, Belgian featherweight Ashley Gilson takes on Valentina Simanikhina of Russia.
The promoter of the event is Osman Yigin, former 16-time World Champion. WKN President Stephane Cabrera is expected to attend the show.
