Kickboxing at Madison Square Garden

Glory 48 takes place at The Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York on Friday December 1. The event is the second show the promotion accommodates at the famous venue this year, with the previous event held in July.

The program of the upcoming show traditionally comprises two chapters. Glory 48 New York airs live on ESPN3, following Glory 48 Super Fight Series streamed on UFC Fight Pass.

Featherweight kickboxing championship between the current title holder Dutch Robin van Roosmalen and American Kevin VanNostrand was expected to serve as the main-event at Glory 48 New York. However the reigning champion was forced to pull out from the contest due to eye injury.

VanNostrand remains on the card and is expected to face French Abdellah Ezibiri. The latter is the winner of the four-man contender tournament last Saturday in Lyon. The pair will challenge for the interim belt.

American Tiffany van Soest will be making her second bantamweight title defense in the main event at Glory 48 Super Fight Series. Her opponent is French Anissa Meksen who took the third-round TKO victory against Funda Alkayis, also at Glory 47 this past weekend.

The fight card also includes the four-man middleweight tournament as well as the series of super fights. Other bouts are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
