UFC Fight Night 121: Werdum vs. Tybura takes place at the Qudos Bank Arena next Sunday November 19. The six-fight main card airs live on FS 6, Edge and Fight Pass, following the preliminary cards on UFC Fight Pass.

Earlier this week the fight card suffered two pull outs. Nevertheless the replacements for both bouts have been found, with today’s announcement made by Australian Alex Volkanovski who is facing a new opponent.

“I’m taking on Shane Young in a catch weight bout at 150 lbs on Sunday November 19,” Volkanovski posted on Instagram.

Originally Australian featherweight Volkanovski was scheduled to fight Canadian Jeremy Kennedy, who withdrew from the contest due to back injury. He was replaced by Peruvian Humberto Bandenay, who pulled out this week after suffering a fractured right wrist.

Taking a fight on a week notice, the representative of New Zealand, Shane Young (9-3) makes his UFC debut. Riding a five-fight win streak, his resume includes the victories against Bo Yan, Zexian Jiang, Siitia Leti, among others. He meets Volkanovski at agreed 150 lbs / 68 kg catchweight.

UFC Sydney is headlined by Brazilian heavyweight Fabricio Werdum who faces Poland’s Marcin Tybura. Also on the card Bec Rawlings takes on Jessica-Rose Clark in all-Australian women’s flyweight bout.

Also on the card welterweight Belal Muhammad takes on Tim Means, and middleweight Daniel Kelly goes up against Elias Theodorou. In addition Jake Matthews squares off against Bojan Velickovic at welterweight. The current fight card can be found below.
