WKN Top Team: Amel Dehby
The 26-year-old Amel Dehby (30-1-0) is the most recognizable name, representing women’s kickboxing out of France. She is the reigning WKN World bantamweight champion, including three succesful title defenses. In addition over the course of her career she twice earned European title.
The resume of Dehby includes the victories over Veronica Vernocchi, Maria Pantazi, Lucie Mudrochova, among others. The only defeat in her career is a decision loss against Tiffany Van Soest in the final of “Glory” single-elimination tournament in 2016. Her most recent bout was this past September in Saint-Raphael, where she defeated Cathy McAleer by decision.
On Wednesday World Kickboxing Network announced a three-fight deal for Dehby booked for 2018. French star starts the season as early as in January.
“Considered as one of the best female fighters in the world, French pride Amel Dehby is set for three bouts scheduled for the next year in France,” stated in the press release. “Coached by Badri Rouabhia at AJSR Saint Raphael, she is the reigning WKN bantamweight champion, as well as the 2016 Glory bantamweight tournament runner up.
Starting a new season, the representative of WKN Top Team Amel Dehby faces her French-fellow Lizzie Larguiliere. The 57 bout is featured on the card at Nuit des Gladiateurs held on January 13 in Marseille.
On February 10 Dehby takes on Dutch Ruby Mesu at the Phenix Boxing Only event which takes place in Megeve. In addition, the following month, she battles out against Ilona Wijmans, also representing The Netherlands, at Nuit des Titans held in Tours on March 17.”
