UFC 221 lineup update
Nigerian born-New Zealander Israel Adesanya (11-0 MMA) makes his promotional debut at UFC 221 scheduled for Sunday February 11 at Perth Arena. His opponent, Australian Rob Wilkinson (11-1), makes his second appearance in the Octagon.
The 28-year-old Adesanya is undefeated in 11 MMA bouts with all victories taken prior the final bell. Moreover he holds the 50-5-2, 24 KOs record in kickboxing with multiple appearances at GLORY World Series. In addition, he is 5-1 in The Sweet Science.
Wilkinson, 25, is the former BRACE and AFC middleweight champion. His resume includes ten stoppages out of eleven victorious bouts. The only defeat he faced to date was in his UFC promotion debut at Fight Night 115 in September, when he suffered a TKO defeat against Siyar Bahadurzada, being a replacement for the original opponent.
UFC 221 is headlined by the defending middleweight champion Robert Whittaker who faces the former champion Luke Rockhold. The co-main event features a heavyweight battle between “The Super Samoan” Mark Hunt and Curtis Blaydes.
