John Wayne Parr welcomes 2018
On the first day of 2018 Australian Muay Thai legend John Wayne Parr reminded the world what it is all about. “The Gunslinger” took it to Twitter expressing his New Year’s resolution, which appears as original as it can be.
Parr shared a screenshot of his post from 2015, which features the photograph of him shoulder to shoulder with the one and only Ramon “Diamond” Dekkers. The call-to-action for everyone was to make it the “year I kicked ass”.
“Sounds boring but every year I try thinking of new goals to kick and think ‘f**k that, haven’t finished kicking the old ones yet’,” he captioned the screenshot. “Wrote this 2 years ago, and even that was goals from 20 years ago. The Muay Thai Dream is still strong.”
The 41-years-old phenom John Wayne Parr has a successful run in 2017, scoring two knockout victories at Bellator Kickboxing against Nando Calzetta and Piergiulo Paolucci. In addition he retained his Caged Muay Thai middleweight title, earning a unanimous decision against James Heelan.
This year Parr aspires to 100th career win. His next bout is currently in the making and expected to be announced in the near future.
Sounds boring but every year I try thinking of new goals to kick and think “fuck that, haven’t finished kicking the old ones yet”.
