Kickboxer: Retaliation (2018) release date
Jean Claude-Van Damme is back on Silver Screen with Kickboxer: Retaliation (2018). Not only that “The Muscles from Brussels” appears in the second chapter of a cult classic remake, “Iron” Mike Tyson is as well featured in the film.
The storyline develops from where Kickboxer: Vengeance (2016) ended. The action begins a year after Kurt Sloane, portrayed by Alain Moussi, left the birth place of Muay Thai, Thailand where he had found vengeance for his murdered brother. He now battles in the Octagon in the US, getting ready for a title fight.
However Sloan is forced back to Thailand, where he finds himself kidnapped and imprisoned in Bangkok, by a gangster Thomas Moore (Christopher Lambert). The bounty is placed on his head, and he has to fight a two-meter, over 180 kg foe Mongkut (Hafbor Julius Bjornsson), or remain behind bars for life. To make it out alive he trains with the legendary Master Durand (Jean-Claude Van Damme) and fellow inmate Briggs (Mike Tyson).
Kickboxer: Retaliation was expected in theaters last fall, but was rescheduled. Nevertheless, the first release date is set with the movie premiere in Singapore on Thursday 25 January. The day after, the film arrives on DVD and Blu-ray premiere in the US. European DVD premiere is in Italy on April 5.
In addition, Hollywood boxing icon Rocky himself, Sylvester Stallone recently stated that Jean-Claude Van Damme is “one of the greatest film fighters of all time”.
