Bob Sapp back in the ring after fight against bear

Bob Sapp vs. Selcuk Ustabasi

“The Beast” Bob Sapp returns to action when he takes on Turkish heavyweight Selcuk Ustabasi on Saturday January 27 in Izmir. The bout scheduled for three rounds in K-1 kickboxing is featured on the card at Mix Fight Championship (MFC 24).

In his most recent bout inside the square circle Sapp was stopped in the first round by French veteran Gregory Tony. However the defeat by TKO at Fight Night Saint Tropez last August wasn’t enough to finalize the year for the former K-1 & Pride attraction. On New Year’s Eve in Japan, Sapp took on the bear. “Literally”.

Although the battle was not a punch-on fiesta, “The Beast” and the bear were locked in the cage. It appeared as Sumo-like contest, with the bear winning against, but not killing, the human.

Bob Sapp (12-18-0, 9 KO) is the former professional wrester and American footballer. His resume includes two notable victories against a four-time K-1 champion, legendary Ernesto Hoost. He has also went up against such stars as Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic, Remy Bonjasky, Jerome Le Banner among others. The clash with the bear is arguably the most extravaganza happening in his career.
