Rob Powdrill is back in the ring
Mid last month Rob Powdrill was announced to face Peter Davenport inside the MMA cage at the scheduled for March 17 AFC 24 promotion in Perth. The event has been reportedly moved to a later, date taking its place in Melbourne, and the bout has consequently fell off.
Nevertheless Perth fighter Powdrill has a new contest ahead. He goes through the ropes in May, battling out in his home town.
“The cage fight I’ve been training for has been canceled. So I’m back focusing on my main mission, winning the ‘IBF Muay Thai world title in May’,” Powdrill posted on Facebook. “I’ll post details asap.”
Australian all-rounder last appeared inside the square circle in August 2017, when he took part in the Ozzie Toughman knockout tournament held on the Gold Coast. Earlier in his career Powdrill challenged for World Kickboxing Network super middleweight title in France, as well as represented WKN Top Team Australia in Spain. In addition, in 2014 he won World Boxing Council Eurasia Pacific light heavyweight title when he knocked out Damien Hooper in 21 seconds.
The name of his next opponent and event details are expected to be announced in the coming weeks. We will have more information as soon as it becomes available.
