Powdrill vs. Wiktora 2: five-round war
Perth Muay Thai fighters Rob Powdrill and Michael Wiktora squared off for the second time this past Friday, May 11. The pair headlined the Thunderdome 25 event held at Metro City night club.
The scheduled for five rounds bout went the distance. Powdrill came out victorious by decision, taking his second win against Wiktora. In addition, he took the 84 kg WA State championship belt.
“Didn’t get the win but what a 5-round war,” Tony Fisher, the trainer of the latter, posted on Facebook after the event. “Took this fight against the legend Robert Powdrill on two weeks notice, but Mike still put on a good show. You are awesome Michael Wiktora, and congrats to Rob on the win and your new belt.”
Wiktora replaced injured Millad Farzad, who was originally lined up to face Powdrill, contesting for the first IBF Light Heavyweight title in Muay Thai.
The first bout between Wiktora and Powdrill headlined Nemesis Fight Show 7 promoted in 2013. The bout ended in favor of the latter also by decision.
