IFMA Muay Thai World Championships 2018
The fifth day of the bouts at Muay Thai World Championships 2018 in Cancun narrowed the tournament bracket. The athletes advanced closer to the finals, in order to challenge for IFMA Gold and qualify for The World Games 2021.
Among the bouts Italian Martine Michieletto eliminated the defending 57 kg World Champion Patricia Axling of Sweden, making it “one of the big surprises of the day,” International Federation of Muaythai Amateur outlined in its report. She will now go up against French Anaelle Angerville who is victorious against Russian Maria Klimova.
Also on the day, Belarusian Andrei Kulebin defeated Namik Neftaliyev of Kazakhstan, and will now face Thai Kanom Tantakob in the final of the 71 kg Male division. The latter took the win against Turkish Yildirim Oguz.
The likes of Hungarian Nortbert Speth, Ukrainian Igor Liubchenko, and Turkish Behida Tacyildiz also made the highlights. The complete results of the bouts can be found at IFMAlive.com.
Muay Thai World Championships 2018 is held in Cancun, Mexico from Thursday May 10 to Saturday May 19. The event marks the first time when IFMA competitions held in Pan-America, with 79 countries participating.
