Jorge Cali Awards WBO Latino Champion German Benitez

WKN kickboxing ambassador in South America Jorge ‘Acero’ Cali attended WBO boxing fight night in Garin, Buenos Aires on Saturday 5th March.

The show has seen interim WBO Latino lightweight championship between Garin’s local German Argentino Benitez, 24, and Horacio Alfredo Cabral, 26, from Estacion America. Prior the bout both athletes stated the same record of 14 undefeated bouts with 7 knockout victorious.


It was all or nothing with both fighters aiming the following win prior the last bell. Emotional and intense bout was over on the second minute of round nine. Powerful right hook to the chin from the southpaw stand did the job for Bentinez. Seeing Cabral with his face down sitting in the corner, referee called the contest off. TyC Sports that televised the event outlined the victory as a tremendous knockout.

Jorge ‘Acero’ Cali is an eminent former four-time WKN kickboxing champion. He is a current president of City Council of Escobar in Buenos Aires region. ‘Acero’ [Eng. Steel] awarded a new champion Benitez with WBO title belt and had the following to say:

“I am proud of Garin [city] to produce a new champion, German Benitez,”

“Why proud? Because people like him are the unique personalities,”

“He [Benitez] is a champion who makes history.”

“Youth is our future, and we all have a duty to care for them,”

“I want to thank everyone who presents at this beautiful boxing evening, the Social Club and Sport Garin, all authorities,”

“But most of all, I want to thank the champion who sets an example for the next generation.”
