Toby Smith faces Soloman Wickstead at Nemesis 11 fight night Perth

Englishman Soloman Wickstead jets to Perth to challenge Australian first string Toby Smith in the main event of ‘Nemesis 11’ fight night.

Manchester-born Soloman Wickstead, 20, is a professional muay thai-boxer from England. Fighting out of ‘Frankies Gym’, he is experienced in 33 bouts with 26 wins, 6 losses and 1 draw. Several times Wickstead appeared at Yokkao Boxing events, that eventually brought him international recognition. He fought the likes of Frenchmen Abdallah Mabel and Dylan Salvador, Estonian Mirkko Moisar and Dardan Morina from Germany.

Wickstead is the first ‘farang’ [foreigner, not Thai] in five years to challenge Australia’s best Toby ‘The Weapon’ Smith in his hometown Perth.

The Smith vs Wickstead bout headlines eleventh edition of ‘Nemesis Fight Shows’ on Saturday 21st May 2016 at Kingsway Stadium, Madeley, WA.

Last February, Perth-born Smith made a full time return to Land Down Under from Thailand. Since he has already collected two KO victories over Thai competitors in Melbourne and Perth.

For the last five years Smith has predominantly fought authentic muaythai fighters, except of his cracker with John Wayne Parr. To make it exclusive at Nemesis 11, promoter Patrick Talbot brings Wickstead, who is the first representative of the old world to take on Australian ‘Weapon’ in his home town. Last time Smith fought European on Perth soil was in 2010. Back then Smith battled renowned Reece McAllister, who also happens to represent the United Kingdom.

The main card at Nemesis 11 fight night will see FIVE prestigious WKN title bouts of State and National caliber.

One of the championships has been released last week, seeing Walter Lara taking on Liam Woodhouse in the Western Australian super-lightweight clash.

Nemesis 11 brings together two leading Muay Thai territories in Australia. The team from several cities in Queensland will venture to Perth to take on WA selection.
