Buakaw Banchamek and Andrei Kulebin fought on Saturday, December 10, 2016 in Beirut, Lebanon.
Thai star Buakaw Banchamek and the king of muaythai out of Belarus Andrei Kulebin faced off in the junior middleweight [welterweight] encounter. The two challenged for Phoenix promotion’s inaugural title. The fight headlined a mix gala. Six muaythai and seven MMA fights featured on the card.
Although Buakaw Banchamek and Andrei Kulebin cemented their names in the current era of muaythai both needed to prove wrong. Banchamek was coming out of a defeat to Yi Long last month in China. Kulebin also recently collected a loss against Fabio Pinca in Paris. Both athletes highly desired a victorious outcome.
After three rounds of action the verdict proclaimed Buakaw earning a unanimous decision. For Kulebin such result is the third defeat in a row.
