The Usual Suspects made in ProKick are now in history.
The fight show promoted by Billy Murray was the following chapter in the book of international kickboxing in Northern Ireland. Former four-time world champion and promoter since early 90’s has held the Usual Suspects last night at Queens Hall Newtownards.
The program produced a series of bouts with local stars taking on the international opponents. In addition the fight card comprised several amateur contests and novice matches.
In the main event Johnny ‘Swift’ Smith went up against Camilo Villada Posada of Spain. The pair battled out in the WKN welterweight prestige match. After four rounds of action local competitor earned the decision.
In the co-main event Cathy McAleer faced off Kylie Cocker of Malta. Scheduled for three rounds female super flyweight bout ended prior the final bell. “Karate Queen” out of Northern Ireland stopped her vis-a-vis in the second.
Also on the card Jake McCready took on another Spanish fighter Ivan Jesus Ruiz Batista. The welterweights went head to head in the four-round amateur contest. As a result McCready earned the decision.
In conclusion to the main program Michael Swann squared off with Cathal Dunne of Ireland. The super lightweights met in the rematch following their knockout encounter last September. Furthermore the challenge was for the WKN amateur international title. After four rounds the decision went in favor of Swann who consequently earned the second victory.
On the top of the bill, three-time world champion Gary “Belfast Boy” Hamilton attended the event.
