Buakaw Invites to World Wai Kru Muay Thai Ceremony

Renowned fighter Buakaw Banchamek shares a video performing Wai Khru Ram Muay.

Banchamek gym posted the video of Buakaw performing Wai Kru on its official Facebook page on Friday. It follows the set of photos released earlier this month. The clip aims to promote the 13th Wai Kru Muay Thai Ceremony. The event is held on March 17 at Ayutthaya Historical Park. The happening organized by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) in terms of the “Thaifest” is an annual fixture that also celebrates Nai Khanom Tom Day.

The caption to the clip provides the information on other events held on the day of March 17. From 1 PM onward, the Wat Mahathat temple accommodates the numerous matches of “Miracle Muay Thai the World Heritage”.

The call-to-action advises to “discover Thai culture such as the talisman tattooing, the making of Aranyik sword, a power test of ancient Muay Thai training by kicking banana trees and a speed test by jabbing limes.” The attendees also have an opportunity to “meet and greet Muay Thai superstar Buakaw Banchamek”.

The 13th Wai Kru Muay Thai Ceremony 2017 starts at 6 PM. “TAT would like to invite you to be a part of the sacred Wai Kru Muay Thai Ceremony that keeps the ancient custom up to the present day.” The climax of the event is when over “a thousand of international fighters perform “Wai Kru Muay Thai” together.

In addition another clip posted on YouTube shows Buakaw inside the boxing ring with a verbal message. He presents himself and invites “everyone to attend the World Wai Kru Muay Thai Ceremony on this 17 March at Ayutthaya Heritage Site,” he says. “I hope you can come to this event. See you soon. Thank you.”
