Kickboxing World Championship in Sardinia: Trailer Released

Lorenzo Piras vs Allan Gozdzicki for the WKN lightweight kickboxing world title headlines The Night of Super Fight VI on April 22 in Iglesias.

The 24-year-old Lorenzo Piras (20, 10 KOs – 5 – 0) is the current WKN super featherweight European title holder. He earned the belt against Paolo Renna of Belgium last November at Simply The Best 12 Farciennes. Fighting out of Alias Gym he makes kickboxing history as the first fighter out of Sardinia to challenge for the WKN world title on its soil.

The second contender is Allan Gozdzicki (45, 13 KOs -19 – 3) of Belgium. The 31-year-old is a prominent athlete, representing Osman Gym in Charleroi. For over a decade he has been fighting internationally taking on some of the best athletes in the division.

The pair will square off in the main event of the sixth edition of the Night of Super Fight. The event is held at Palestra Comunale Via Pacinotti. The bout will got ahead at 5 x 3 minute rounds in K-1 kickboxing.

In addition, the program includes a series of bouts in Muay Thai. Team Sardinia faces off Team Spain in the international contest. The matchmaking includes Alessandro Caredda, Mattia Limbardi, Ninni Marcialis, Alessio Corona, Mattia Peddio, Giuliano Lai, Angelo Snider, Arrutia Palacios, among others.

Promoters of the show are Antonio and Alessandro Alias. Over the years the group has organized numerous fight shows in Oristano and Iglesias.

Sardinia is an Italian territory in the Mediterranean sea. The island has produced several notable kickboxers. Alongside Piras the list comprises the two-time featherweight European champion and the world title challenger Nicolas Canu as well as the Kickboxing World Cup 2017 participant Mattia Peddio.
