Muay Thai Life: Buakaw Training, Spars Vitaly Gurkov


Muaythai star Buakaw Banchamek is back at training.

Renowned Thai fighter Buakaw has had his most recent bout on January 1st. This was when he earned a unanimous decision against Chinese Tian Xin at Kunlun Fight 56 in Sanya.

During the last several weeks, the two-time K-1 Max World Grand Prix winner has taken part in numerous happenings throughout Thailand. The muaythai ambassador worldwide has traditionally been the face of the Art of Eight Limbs.

Buakaw has participated in various events in terms of the Thai Festival, organized by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT). Among everything, on March 17 he has led the 13th World Wai Kru Muay Thai Ceremony. The ritual gathered a thousand of international fighters and devotees performing their Wai Khru Ram Muay at Ayutthaya Historical Park. In addition, famed athlete has also appeared at several TV shows, including this weekend’s “Super Muay Thai”.

On Sunday, Banchamek Gym streamed live on its page on Facebook. The video out of training has showed Buakaw’s day in the office from hand-wrapping and shadowboxing all way till the end of the final round of sparring.

The footage also includes another gym’s fighter Petchtanong. He is training and getting ready for the upcoming bout. As well, the world champion out of Belarus, Vitaly Gurkov is currently staying and training at Banchamek Gym on the invitation of the camp’s manager Teerawat Yioyim. The set of photos has been recently posted introducing the athlete. Furthermore Belarusian is the man who squared off with Buakaw in the final of the Thai Fight tournament in 2012.

The trio went head to head in the sparring session. The featured video Gurkov posted on his profile on Instagram. Although Buakaw next fight has not yet been formally announced, he is indeed at work.
