Piras defeats Gozdzicki at kickboxing gala The Night of Super Fight
World championship kickboxing headlined The Night of Super Fight 6 on Saturday April 22 in Iglesias. The event made history as the first WKN World title contested on Sardinia Island. The 24-year-old featherweight champion of Europe Lorenzo Piras of Italy faced off a prominent competitor out of Belgium, Allan Gozdzicki, 31. The pair challenged for the lightweight strap in K-1.
The scheduled for five rounds championship bout went on distance. The encounter has produced a very close battle. The judges proclaimed the decision in favor of the local athlete. As a result Lorenzo Piras was crowned as the WKN World lightweight champion in oriental kickboxing. He has also updated his record to 21-5-0, 10 KOs. Gozdzicki dropped to 45-20-3, 13 KOs.
In addition, the fight card included the contest in Muay Thai. Team Sardinia squared off with Team Spain. As well, a series of super fights featured on the program. Popular fighter Nicola Canu and Mattia Peddio were among others partaking in the event.
The promoters of the show were Antonio Alias and Alessandro Alias. Over the years the group has organized numerous international kickboxing promotions in Oristano and Iglesias. The Night of Super Fight 6 was the debut to produce the WKN World Kickboxing Championship on the territory of Sardinia. A former 16-time world champion, Osman Yigin presented at the event.

The Night of Super Fight 6 in Iglesias was promoted on the same day as the Full Contact Night in Nice. Four World Kickboxing Network titles were on the line in the French Riviera.
