Manny Pacquiao is fighting Jeff Horn on July 2 at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane

The boxing great out of Philippines Manny Pacquiao (59-6-2, 38 KOs) landed in Brisbane on Monday. He visits Australia with the promotional tour ahead of his WBO World welterweight title defense against Aussie Jeff Horn (16-0-1, 11) on July 2 at Suncorp Stadium.

“I’m not going to predict the fight but I will do my best to entertain the fans. I’m very excited to fight here, I’ve fought a lot of fighters in the States. This is new, I’m excited. I can’t wait for the fight,” Manny Pacquiao told reporters in Brisbane Airport.

The most recent bout of “Pacman” was last November when he earned a unanimous decision against Jessie Vargas as well as claimed the title. The famed boxer also serves as a Senator in his homeland.

“I want to defend my crown and prove that I’m still there in boxing, despite of my ambitions in office as a senator, I’m still handling my boxing career. I’m still there. I’m not done yet in boxing. I started when I was young – it’s part of my life.”

“My message for him is to work hard and show you are 100 per cent conditioned on July 2 so we can give people a good fight. The fans motivate me to defend my belt. I’m looking forward to that.”

“That’s good for him [Horn] that there’s a lot of people to cheer for him. That’s what I want. I love that.”

“I don’t know much about him but I know he’s a fighter. I haven’t watched his fights yet but I’m going to get his last three fights and watch them.”

During the week Manny Pacquiao will also visit Sydney and Melbourne.
