UFC Fight Night: Lewis vs Hunt fight card

UFC Auckland is held on Sunday June 11 at 12.000-seat Vector Arena. The event is a return of the Ultimate Fighting Championship to New Zealand since 2014. The show airs live on FS1 following the prelims on UFC Fight Pass.

To date the organization announced eight bouts. It is advised that the reset of the matchmaking will be revealed in the coming weeks. Heavyweight bout between Derrick Lewis of the US and New Zealand-born residing in Australia Mark Hunt headlines the show. The rest of the bouts feature the fighters representing New Zealand, Australia, England, Japan and USA. Earlier this week the promotion added an international welterweight bout between Kiichi Kunimoto (18-6-2, 1NC) of Japan and Warlley Alves (11-2-0) of Brazil.

35-year-old Kunimoto returns to the Octagon after more than two years away from the competition. In his most recent bout in February 2015 he faced the defeat against Neil Magny in Round 3 via submission. Before that bout he was on the winning streak recording three victories in 2014. He defeated Richard Walsh by split decision, Daniel Sarafian by submission in Round 1, and also took the win over Luiz Dutra due to the disqualification of the latter in the first round.

Warlley, 26, is similarly coming out from the defeat. In two contests last year he faced the defeats by decision against Kamaru Usman and Bryan Barberena. A year earlier he submitted Colby Covington in Round 1 as well as Nordine Taleb in Round 2.
